We had an amazing day in the Spring sunshine today! The children really impressed us with their maturity and skills during the orienteering session, when they worked in teams of four five to navigate a large area and track down Robin Hood and his friends. Jess had clocked up more than 11,000 steps by lunchtime; Mrs Pearson not quite so many!
After our tasty lunches (thank you parents) and a play, we set off on the Major Oak trail. What an awesome ancient organism! Please ask the children: how old it is; how much its waistline (trunk circumference) measures; and how much its total spread (canopy) is, because we tried to lock these facts in our heads!

A rather late posting of this action-packed Family Friday I'm afraid! This one went on past the weekend too; with a weekend at home in between of course!
