Bishop's Badge Presentation
Year 5 and 6 in the Juniors took on the challenge to spread some kindness within the community. For several weeks, they worked as a team to create "Bags of Kindness" that they would later give to someone in the community. Within the bags, the pupils put items like tea bags, coffee sachets, biscuits, heartfelt cards and handmade flowers. The pupils reached out to people within the community to see where they could deliver their bags and were lucky to get in touch with Church in the Peak. The pupils visited the Church in the Peak to meet with some of the older members of the community so they could be gifted the Bags of Kindness.
As recognition of their service to the community and the hard work they had all put in to spread kindness in the community, Year 5 and 6 were nominated for the Bishop's Badge. On Tuesday 18th June, Bishop Malcolm and Liz Seymour from the Derby Diocese visited Holy Trinity Church for a very special ceremony to present the Upper Juniors with their Bishop's Badge awards. We are all very proud of the efforts and commitment that they have shown to people in the wider community.
As part of our school ethos we have close links with our local community. Recently through the "Bags to school" campaign we have raised money for a local charity. As a school, we chose the Pavillion because it is an important part of Matlock Bath and the children's lives being deeply intertwined the wider community.
The Restoration Cafe, which is situated within the Pavillion building, invited children to enjoy a tea party as a thank you for the money raised. Children and staff enjoyed a lovely morning of tea and cake and also made collaged pictures of the Pavilion to display.
As a Church of England Primary School, MBHT is also inspected under the Statutory Inspection of Anglican and Methodist Schools (SIAMS) framework.
We had our most recent SIAMS inspection during June of this year and are so pleased to say we received an OUTSTANDING grade! Please take a read for yourself - we are so proud of what we have done here as a whole school family!
