Last week, children in Year 2 and 3 had the opportunity to visit Eyam, joining other schools to enrich their understanding of the RE curriculum. The focus of the trip was on exploring similarities and differences and fostering an inward-looking perspective rather than an outward one. Upon returning to school, the children had the chance to share their new insights with the entire school community and cascade the new learning
This set of learning activities provides simple yet thoughtful experiences through which our children can become increasingly comfortable with religious diversity. This concept is particularly valuable in early primary RE learning, where children explore different faiths such as Christianity, Islam, and Sikhism, and learn about various places of worship. By fostering a deeper understanding and respect for religious diversity, the program helps young students develop empathy and an inclusive mindset from an early age.
