  • "Adventurers" on Family Friday

    Fri 30 Nov 2018
This afternoon we took the time to look at the boxes we have been creating with Holy Trinity Church over the past 3 weeks. We followed the journey of the characters in the Nativity and read their individual stories after unwrapping our models to see what we each had made. Take a look...
  • Christmas family afternoon 2018!

    Fri 30 Nov 2018
What a turn out! We had a fabulous afternoon in school to mark the start of our Christmas celebrations! We were busy cutting, sticking, stapling, and creating; eating mince pies, chocolate logs and biscuits; drinking tea, hot chocolate and milkshake! We decorated our tree and the rest of our school, then finished the afternoon with (what has become our tradition of) singing karaoke to Maria Carey's "All I Want for Christmas". Our wonderful team of Year 6s organised a mini market, selling lots of hand-made goodies from fudge to cards and did a great job. They wanted all the money raised to be split between Cancer Research and school funds....a grand total of £206.14 was raised...WOW WOW WOW!! Thank you to everyone who helped out in any way and a big thank you to everyone who came and joined in the festive fun!
  • Church Council introduce our value this term!

    Tue 20 Nov 2018
Our new Church Council members led Collective Worship today and did a super job. They met, discussed and planned the worship time together after deciding which of our values we should focus on for this half term at school. They kept us all busy and involved in the telling of the story of Moses, and encouraged us to think about what compassion might actually look like. Well done team! We look forward to the next time you lead our worship!
  • Family Friday - Scavenger Hunt!

    Tue 20 Nov 2018
Another busy afternoon for Family Friday! This week we were busy in our school grounds on a maths based scavenger hunt. We worked in pairs or teams, sometimes with our adult and had to find everything in the list in the time we had and collect them in our paper bags. We took them inside and compared our findings! Take a look!
  • "Adventurers round 2!"

    Tue 20 Nov 2018
So this week we went back down to church to paint our clay models! They're looking fab!
  • Remembrance Day

    Fri 09 Nov 2018
It's 100 years this time since the end of the First World War. Gosh, what an unimaginable time for everyone. We talked about Remembrance Day and the significance of the poppies and thought about all the people, and animals, who died all those years ago. We wanted to create a special display to show our thoughts and to share our gratitude to all those who lost their lives fighting for us. Please come and look at what we produced together.

  • "Adventurers"

    Fri 09 Nov 2018
We began the day at Holy Trinity Church, where we started our journey of advent. The infants and the juniors made clay figures of the characters from the Christmas story; the Nativity. Everyone worked so hard to create some beautiful figures and set them out to dry. We go back next week for round two, so watch this space! Thank you to Rev Pauline and the ladies for working with us and the mess today!
  • Oak and Ash visit Derby Museum and Art Gallery

    Tue 06 Nov 2018
Today we caught the bus to the museum to visit two of their permanent exhibitions: 'Notice Nature; Feel Joy' and 'Co-produced World Cultures'. Our focus was on two skills: learning to look with a sharp eye, and learning to think more deeply and make connections. Take a look at just how busy we were!
