• WHAT A SURPRISE!

  "The best day EVER!" That's what was heard from many children today on our surprise end of half-term trip to Oxygen free-jumping. It was brilliant to see the happiness and determination as we jumped, sprang, flipped, bounced, climbed and rolled our way through the afternoon. And what a tasty lunch too! The pictures speak for themselves! Thank you to all the parents for keeping it a surprise - it felt extra special. 

   

  

• Eco Schools Visit: we are now composting champions!

  We had a great morning and afternoon with Anne from Derbyshire County Council. Along with composting, we created a time line for how long it takes different materials to degrade, and entered into 'The Dragon's Apprentice' competition to sell a range of recycled and reused items. • Family Friday - Stage 2 designers!

  With the weather as wild and crazy as it was last Friday, we stayed inside school for Family Friday this time! Having previously designed our new park equipment on paper, we needed to move our design process on to the next stage...3D! We worked together again in our groups, to build our ideas using a range of resources... Take a look at what we ended up with! 

  

• Maximums Mouse at our Harvest festival service

  We performed so well at our service this morning; learning songs, a play and music in just a few days! Maximums Mouse is a very cheeky church mouse, who likes to nibble the food at Harvest time, but there's a special message to think about. We think our families were surprised with our treat at the end! It sounded wonderful....video available to watch in school if you missed it!

  

• Family Friday - Designers!

  This week we visited our local park! We walked together, armed with clipboards, paper and pencils prepared to put our own stamp on things! We looked at what equipment there was available for us to use, and designed something new to add to it all! We came up with some great ideas and will send them off to our local council... Watch this space for a response! And of course, a trip to the park is never complete without testing out all what's there! Take a look...

  The Smartie Challenge!

   

  A tube of Smarties and a leaflet explaining all are coming your way!  Enjoy the tasty treats and refill the tube with coins!  You can return your filled tubes to school and take it back home again to refill!  All money raised goes straight back to our children.
