Today, Hannah from MAST came into school to share an inspiring message with the children. She spoke about the parable of the Good Samaritan and encouraged us to think about how we can apply its lessons in our everyday lives—showing kindness, compassion, and care for others, even when it’s not easy.
Hannah also introduced the concept of Advent, explaining that it is a special time of preparation and waiting for the birth of Jesus. She reminded us that Advent is not just about counting down days, but about reflecting on Jesus’ love and how we can share that love with those around us.
It was a meaningful session that helped the children understand both the importance of helping others and the true spirit of Advent.
On 8th October our friends at Holy Trinity Church invited us to spend time reflecting on Harvest. The children all took part in fun and engaging activities which were themed. Church had been transformed and the children were able to visit different stations, listen to stories and take part in making, creating, crafting and planting. Thanks were given at the end of our morning for the volunteers time and effort, especially as the children had enjoyed their morning.
12th September 2025.
As we had lots of windfall and apples on our tree, we had an apple day at our first forest school session of the year. The children collected windfall and with sticks each house group was challenged to make the tallest structure they could. With apples that they had picked fresh from the tree the children enjoyed apple bobbing. There were some very wet faces! We enjoyed learning facts about apples, investigating and observing closely and of course we had chance to eat some apple products!
Valley CIDS visited our school to share the Nativity story with the children. They created a warm and welcoming atmosphere, making the experience truly engaging. The team brought the story to life by dressing up as different characters from the Nativity, which captured the children’s attention and helped them understand the meaning behind the story in a fun and interactive way. It was a wonderful opportunity for the children to learn and enjoy this special tradition.
