On Thursday 24^th September, the Juniors got the chance to dive hands first into the circulatory system. This half term, the Juniors have been looking at the different systems that work inside our bodies and in order to understand one of the most important, The Circulatory System, the pupils got their hands a little messy. The pupils got to look at a pig’s heart, noticing the key areas like the vena cava, the aorta and the ventricles. The Juniors discovered that a pig’s heart is very similar to a human heart and when they got to take a closer look inside, where able to see the chambers which help to organize our blood into both oxygenated and de-oxygenated blood. As you can see from the pictures below, the Juniors enjoyed their journey through the heart in a tactile (and at times oozing) way.
